The spindle motor is started when power is turned on. The controller does not respond to the host about 500ms from Power turn- on. x OPEN The motor start/stop option is selected. The spindle motor can be started or stopped by using SCSI command. When the motor start/stop option is selected, the drive motor state depends on Motor Auto Start option when its power is turned on. Use the Start/Stop Unit (1BH) command to start or stop the drive. JP248 3-4 Motor Auto-start option ---------------------------------- x 3-4 CLOSED The spindle motor is started when power is turn on. (Auto Start) The motor can be started or stoped by using SCSI command. OPEN The Spindle motor is not started when power is turn on. The motor can be started by using SCSI command. This jumper is available when the motor start/stop option is selected, and the Motor start/stop state is selected by the motor auto start option jumper setting when power is turn on. Use the Start/Stop Unit (1BH) command to start or stop the drive. NOTE Motor Auto Start option jumper are applied from SCSI Firmware CPXXQ.
